Kenya and Tanzania Combined Safari

Kenya and Tanzania combined safari, prepare yourselves to be swept through the beauty of Kenya and Tanzania. We pay visits to isolated regions and interact with the local tribes, including the famous Masai people.

The conditions of the weather and roads will affect our choice of routes on each safari, thus a reasonable amount of flexibility from travellers will be required. Come with an open mind and a sense of adventure in order to get the best out of this tour

Day 1: Nairobi
In Nairobi, we gather at our hotel in the core of this vibrant city. For those arriving early, there is an array of Optional Activities and outings available which can be organized through the hotel. At around 18h00 you will be briefed about our tour and we will then enjoy a lovely evening meal at one of the city’s local restaurants.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru
Departing from Nairobi, we journey north ascending the escarpment from where we will experience incredible views of the majestic Great Rift Valley. We then climb down into the valley and make our way into the Lake Nakuru National Park where we seek out rhino, leopard, lion, buffalo and many other animals that have made this Park their home. We spend some time admiring the awesome view of enormous flocks of flamingo that congregate here. In the evening we camp right below the equator at Kembu.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Lake Naivasha
We travel a brief distance today and make our way to our camp situated on the Lake Naivasha shores. Once we’ve set up camp among the gorgeous Fever trees, we are granted some leisure time to unwind, observe the hippos and to admire our wonderful surroundings. In the afternoon we pay a visit to Elsamere, the previous home of Joy and George Adamson, to indulge in a delicious afternoon tea and to be educated about their incredible lives. Following this, we head back to camp for a peaceful evening.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4: Masai Mara
Today we travel through some of Kenya’s most wonderful wilderness, making use of lesser-known roads, passing various Masai villages en route. Our camp for the following two evenings neighbours the famous Masai Mara National Park. Indulge in a lovely hot shower tonight with heated water from a traditional donkey boiler.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5: Masai Mara
We make our way into the Park in the early hours of the morning in order to embark on a lengthy day of game driving. The Masai Mara is famous for its massive herds and many predators. We make a point to follow the seasonal migrations. We enjoy a picnic lunch on the Mara riverbanks, renowned for its large crocodile and hippo concentrations. We then head back to camp for the evening.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6: Lake Victoria
Departing from the Masai Mara, we make our way into Tanzania and then climb down toward the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. This lake makes up part of the Great Rift Valley and provides a livelihood for plenty of locals who fish in its waters. Here, we spend some time unwinding, browsing the markets and bartering with the local fishermen. In the evening we will dine at a lovely local restaurant at our own expense. We spend the night camping at the water’s edge.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 7: Serengeti
Today we make our way into the Serengeti National Park - the world’s most acclaimed wildlife sanctuary. This Park boasts massive populations of game with countless predators and birdlife all living on the never-ending grasslands and acacia-covered plains, which is the epitome of a true African game park. We will explore the Park from west to east, embarking on several exciting game drives, and we will spend our evening at the bustling Seronera campsite.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8: Serengeti - Ngorongoro
Following a lengthy game drive that takes place in the morning, we depart from the Serengeti and make our way into the Ngorongoro Conservation region where we observe the fascinating sight of the Masai tribal people herding their livestock among the wildlife, maintaining their customary lifestyle as they have done for thousands of years. This evening we camp at the well-known Simba Camp, situated on the edge of the grand Ngorongoro Crater. The views from this campsite are breathtaking.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 9: Ngorongoro- Masai
At the break of dawn, we begin our brave descent into the massive crater in our 4X4 safari vehicles where we explore this natural wonder. Here, we have the opportunity to spot almost all of Africa’s animal species, including the uncommon black rhino, up close in the vast, open plains. Heading back to Simba camp, we indulge in a tasty lunch before making our way out of the Park and climbing down the escarpment to our village camp. We spend two evenings camping here, surrounded by the Masai people.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 10: Masai Village
We spend today exploring the village on foot. We also take some time to take in the original culture, perhaps getting a chance to experience the Masai dancing and to try our hand at bartering in the marketplace. All of this gives us a unique perspective into their traditional lifestyle. We then camp for the evening.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 11: Arusha
Awaking in the early morning, we head toward a town situated at the foot of the magnificent Mt Meru, Arusha. Here, we spend our afternoon exploring this vibrant town and its local marketplaces. In the evening we will indulge in a delicious meal out at one of the lovely local restaurants.
